Hi and thanks for stopping by! Just a small note admitting that I've had lots of help creating these images.
Help from the Creative Directors, Art Directors, the Art Buyers, the receptionists who track them down, the people who sign and send out those wonderful prizes called checks, and my most intimate collaborators. Some I would like you to know by name because they deserve as much credit as I do.
JOFFRE ALVAREZ has been my assistant for almost 20 years and has saved me from disaster more times than I want to remember. GLORIA PINETTE and GERARDO CALDERON are superb Food Stylists. MORRIS LOPES makes props for me with an uncanny ability and is always on schedule. INGRID ROMAN and BLANCA NIEVES are true artists of makeup. RICA GROENNOU can come up with any location needed and has been known to ward off thunderclouds by sheer will. JACLYN ODELL, ANAÏS MELERO and CAROLA GONZALEZ won't give up on finding the right prop or piece of wardrobe no matter where it is or what colors are in vogue. But tops on my list is MAICA, my wife. She paid the bills while I did my best not to lose the scholarships which put me through the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. She puts up with my craziness and the weird and erratic schedules I keep. She is my North Star!
I am very grateful to the DxO company in France, and specially to Deborah Galin and Cyrille de La Chesnais, for the invitation to be included in their site as a DxO Master. It is the only RAW developer I use to develop the files from my Canon cameras. I regularly compare it with other RAW processing programs but still, for me, DxO is the best. Being a DxO Master allows me to share the results with people from all over the world; a lot of whom have taken the time to contact me. Merci bien DxO !
Another person that has my admiration and gratitude is Dan Margulis. One of the most interesting and kind persons I've met. Most of what I do well in post production, I owe to his teachings on color correction, channel mixing and PS wizardry.
For all my fellow gadget freaks, I use SINAR eMotion 75 backs mounted on Rollei xAct2 and Contax 645's. In addition, I am using Canon 1Ds Mark III's and the new 5D II's with a large assortment of lenses for which DxO corrects distortions, aberrations and fringing. Lighting is done with Hensel and Profoto.
Computers are Mac Pro's, Dualcore G5 Macs, and for location work 17" Power Books and iPads. RAW images are developed with DXO V. 6. Retouching then is done in Photoshop CS5. For HDR I use and trust Braketeer. Lightroom keeps things organized.
If you have any questions about the images shown here or anything else photographic I might help you with please don't hesitate to email me.
To you and all of yours, my most sincere wishes for Peace, Health, Love, Gold and Time!
